Bio: My Story
Hello,
My name is Jeannine Sevilleno, I am a sociological thinker of work, health and policy. I began my passion for public health, when I completed my High School Co-op experience as a student Unit Clerk where I witnessed the health care experiences of patients, medical professionals, staff and visitors. From this experience, I learned about the many conditions of the health experience in the health care system which influenced me to pursue my career pathway in public health.

In June 2021, I graduated with a Double Major in Sociology, Health Policy (Co-op), and Health Humanities Minor for my honours Bachelor of Arts degree. My disciplinary interests include medical sociology and health humanities due to the fascinating perception of health through the social determinants of health and arts-based health research. With the sociological perspective, I have the advantage to embark on health scenarios from an interconnected web of causation such as the social determinants of health.

In addition, I have discovered my interests in holistic education and health during my roles in higher education. Further, I learned the importance of sense of belonging while pursuing one's professional journey when working in a student-oriented services environment.

With the goal of supporting young working professionals based on the understanding of holistic health and my sociological lens, I motivated to endeavour work in cultivating engagement in higher education and the world of work for the purpose of meaningful experiences while advocating for the interests and goals of future leaders of tomorrow. Follow me through my exploration of health & wellness, health advocacy and the sociological thought.
An Aspiring Social Worker and Holistic Educator,
Jeannine Sevilleno
